Do you have difficulty swallowing? Are you over 65 years of age, or know someone who is? Have you or a loved one been diagnosed with myositis or another muscle weakness condition? Are you a caregiver for someone with myositis or want to learn more about this disorder?
To recognize National Dysphagia Awareness Month in June and National Myositis Awareness Month in May, the Dysphagia team at the Sean Parker Institute for the Voice in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City invites you to attend a virtual seminar on swallowing problems in Myositis.
Our speakers include swallowing-specialized otolaryngologists and speech pathologists at the Sean Parker Institute for the Voice who have extensive experience treating people with myositis. Joining us as a guest speaker is Dr. David Fernandez, Assistant Professor of Rheumatology at Hospital for Special Surgery and Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, who focuses on the care of myositis patients in both clinical and research settings. Join us for this FREE awareness event to learn more about swallowing problems in myositis, current treatments, and upcoming innovations
